Clarkview Christian Center Eye Clinic
February 7, 2006
In the Philippines, many are becoming blind and you will be surprised that the only reason is because people couldn't afford the treatment or the surgery of Cataract. At present, it cost about Php30,000 ($600) per eye to extract a Cataract.
Last Friday and Saturday, Clarkview Christian Center was given again the opportunity to help and reach out to people with eye problems. It was an amazing experience for us as we fulfill two main purpose of the church that is; to reach out the indigent people and connect with the Military personnel. I believe, each one of our patients have a story to tell how much they feel blessed after the surgery...
One of them was a Military Police sergeant who has a Pterydium and whom we met inside McDonald, the same day of the operation, while we were having break-fast. We invited him to the Hospital and he did come for operation with his wife. The couple was so excited and for two days, we were able to connect with this military family.
Another one was an old woman named Mary, an indigent civilian, who couldn't see because she has cataract on both eyes. They couldn't afford the cost of the operation ($1200) and were so happy that they knew about our "Eye Operation". After the operaton, she was so excited and you could see joy beaming from her face.
